Income

Recurring income with growth modelling and UK tax.

Income sources

Add each income stream — salary, freelance, rental — with an amount and frequency (weekly, monthly or annual; one-off income is supported too). Income can be entered gross or net: for gross amounts Zukunft applies UK income tax and National Insurance bands (including the personal-allowance taper) for the relevant tax year, with the right treatment per kind — PAYE, self-employed, dividends, savings income, and pension income such as a state pension, defined-benefit pension or annuity.

A source can also start in the future: give it a start month and it shows as "Upcoming" until then, so a new job or pension begins feeding projections at exactly the right time.

Gross sources have UK tax and NI applied before they hit projections; the upcoming role takes over from September without you re-entering anything in August.

Salary history and growth

Record historical income changes (for example: £45k from April 2024, £48k from April 2025) and Zukunft calculates your income growth trend from them.

For projecting future growth, choose per source:

  • Method — a fixed percentage, or your historical average
  • Weighting — straight average, or recency-weighted so recent changes count for more
  • Change month — the month your raise typically lands, so projections apply it at the right time of year
