Planning

Goals

Set savings, debt payoff and net worth targets — and see whether your plan reaches them.

Goal types

Three kinds of goal cover most plans:

  • Savings target — reach an amount in a specific account (an emergency fund, a deposit)
  • Debt payoff — bring a credit or loan balance to zero
  • Net worth — reach an overall net worth figure

Each goal has a target amount and target date.

Tracking progress

Goals are checked against your projection, not just your current balance: each shows a status — achieved, on track, at risk, or off track — based on whether the projected path reaches the target by its date. Change the plan (or compare scenarios) and goal statuses update with it.

Statuses come from the projection, not just the balance: “at risk” means the current plan doesn’t quite reach the target by its date.
